NCL Gem Rear-facing aft cabin

We are about to book NCL Gem for a Trans-Atlantic, dept NYC April 18, 2009, to Barcelona. Have a question about rear facing aft cabins in AF class (“Mini-Suite”). We are looking at cabins 11650, 11654, 11656, 11150, 11152, or 11154. We’ve had rear-facing balcony cabins before, but just in Caribbean.

The question: Going trans-Atlantic, will there be more smoke, or vibration? Also, the cabins are on deck 11, directly above, on deck 12, is the Garden Café/Kid's Café & Great Outdoors. Will there be much of an issue of food odors, or will the ship be traveling too fast for any on this to be an issue?

Thanks
