Historic Juneau Gold Mine tour on Celebrity

We took the tour last week. I wouldn't do it again. The bus driver, tho born in Juneau had been gone for 30 years and kept forgetting the names of people, places, etc. in her explanations. The first two stops of the tour were led by a young man who knew the script but nothing much about the mine. We stopped by the Railroad Superintendents house.. which had slid down the hill, and his explanation was, "here's the house" but no description of what had happened to it.

The actual tour in the mine was good, led by an actual mine worker. I felt the entire thing was done assuming that the folks taking the tour already knew much about mining. They could have done much better with their explanations about the mine and process.

We did pan for gold at the end and came out with a few flakes.
