Coach Bag - Grand Cayman?!

Thats what I have heard :) However, when I bought a coach bag in St Maarten, there was no sales tax, so technically I saved some money compared to buying in the US. Just trying to find a special gift. Thanks!

Even without tax, you are going to pay much more for a Coach bag in GC, than you would other places. Last time I checked it was about 25 cents more per dollar. (It's probably more now) So $4 Cayman dollars will be $5 in US. :(

The exchange rate is fixed at CI$4 = US$5. While the US$ exchange rate floats gainast many currecncies, it does not float against the US$. As the US$ has dropped in value on the world market, so has our CI$. :(

Finally, on several occasions requests for information on Coach bags have been made on this board. I did a search seeking the ground truth and visited several places. The reality is that there used to be a Coach store in GC, but no longer. You cannot find genuine Coach bags here.
