wlfarm Posted May 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2008 My wife and I will stop in Victoria from 7 to midnight on Friday June 13, on the Golden Princess. This is our 10th anniversary and I am looking for a nice place for us to have a special dinner. Any suggestions? Thanks!
c-to-sea Posted May 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2008 This is one of our favourite fine dining restaurants in Victoria. It has a lot of atmosphere and the food has always been excellent. It is close enough that you would have time for a nice meal and still be back to the ship in time. For a Friday night, though, you would definitely need to make a reservation ahead of time. Tell them what the occasion is, too. http://www.camillesrestaurant.com/
c-to-sea Posted May 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2008 Another Suggestion: Arranging a horse-drawn carraige to take you from the ship to the restaurant would be romantic and also ensure that you were able to find your way there. Here is a link to get to several suppliers. http://www.tourismvictoria.com/Content/EN/1015.asp
Putterdude Posted May 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2008 Here is a hot new Asian influenced restaurant: http://www.sanukrestaurant.com/# The Empress Room in the Empress Hotel: http://www.fairmont.com/empress/GuestServices/Restaurants/TheEmpressRoom.htm The Pacific Room at the Grand Pacific Hotel: http://www.hotelgrandpacific.com/dining/pacific_restaurant.html All of these are downtown and about a $10 taxi ride from the Ogden Point cruise dock. scottbee Posted May 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2008 I personally think the best restaurant in the downtown area is Zambri's. A hole-in-the-wall next to a big drug store, but wow the food is great. Another choice that I haven't tried (as I moved from Victoria a few years ago) is Brasserie l'école; all of my friends are raving about it.
