Fuel Surcharge / Food Surcharge

Recommended Posts

A food surcharge would be even more idiotic than a fuel surcharge. Both food and fuel are part of their cost of doing business, so just include it in the cruise price. What do we care how many of our dollars are going to fuel, food, the captain's salary, the price of the ship, or to paint the funnel. We don't care. Just tell us the bottom line cost.

HAH, but then they'd have to pay out on that money in commissions to TA's. If it's a "surcharge" they don't have to pay on it. THAT'S why. but that's makes sense. If they are charging me extra I want it all to go where it belongs.

Have you asked for a detailed bill? Did it have the captain's pay on it?

I agree that it's stupid that they have the fuel surchage. Fuel isn't going down anytime soon so it's not like the surchage will ever be coming off. They should just add it into the regular price but as someone mentioned, I guess it's less they can right off in other areas.
