Corkage Question

If you bring your own wine to the dining room, and pay the corkage fee, will they store the unfinished wine for you, or do you have to bring it back to your room? Also, would anyone have a current list of wine prices on the QM2? Thanks.

Officially they should charge corkage but we have never been charged - it's up to the wine waiter really and he/she is looking for the tip at the end of your trip. And yes they were happy to keep the bottle as with any bought wine.

However you should not try this with the "Pol" that really would not be good form.

Have a good trip whenever you go.

David.

Sorry, didn't save the wine list, but the Bar List has a half dozen Champagnes by the bottle.

Interesting! A Dom on the cruise costs less than £90 which is cheaper than what you can buy from a lot of wine shops in London. Might as well just pay for that on the cruise -- save me from carrying it all the way on board. Even with additional service charge it is still worth without the hassle.

Wine on board is a virtual bargain compared to most restaurants. There are lots of wines in the high $20's and for example, a Pouilly fusse is $40.00. These prices are well within reasonable ranges. Most of the better wines are in the $40's.

We found all the cocktails to be reasonable. We also took our own gin, tonic and limes on so we could have G&T's while we were dressing.

While Cunard may be a bit more off the top, the wine and liberal booze policy makes it a bargain.
