Nassau

We are heading to the Eastern Caribbean - leaving 5/18-5/25 Going to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten on the Carnival Valor. We have St. Thomas and St. Maarten already planned out - hired private tours for both places - I have read so many various things on Nassau, it just ended up confusing me... do you have any suggestions on something enjoyable to do in Nassau? Shopping, nice beaches that arent too crowded, places that is more or less geared towards locals..etc... it is my husband and myself and both our mothers (was our Christmas present to both as they both have lost their spouces and may not ever get the opportunity to do this) We are doing tandom parasailing in St. Thomas. Thanks in advance for any pointers..

Cable beach is nice if you are looking for a beach day. Take the #10 jitney to get there. Cost is $1 each way. To research go to the Bahamas boards.
