Sorta OT-hotel to pier transport

Do most hotels in Ft. Lauderdale have a shuttle to the pier, like (I assume) they have to-from the airport? Any recommendations on the best way to go from a hotel to the pier? Thanks.

The pier is about a $5 taxi ride from the hotels in the downtown area of FLL. We stayed at Marina Marriot a couple of years ago, and they did have a shuttle to the port. Recently we stayed at the Embassy Suites, but elected to take a taxi instead of their shuttle. I have seen since on these boards that ES no longer provides shuttle to the port. I am not aware of any shuttles to those major hotels from the airport, probably because it is only about a $9 taxi fare from the airport.
