David21 Posted May 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2008 Hi Everyone: Finally booked my annual Bermuda cruise today. Going on the EOS on Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 5 nights to Bermuda. We went last September 9, 2007 - 5 nights to Bermuda and add awesome weather and I love the Explorer my second favorite ship - QM2 first. We always pick the 1st sailing in September to Bermuda because for some reason it's the cheapest (hurricane) and get it for a great price. For all of you who don't know 2 weeks before is like double the price. I don't know why they do that since you risk a hurricane in August and September but for some reason the first week of Sept. is a bargain. This will be our 4th time on the EOS we just love her. And hopefully Ricky in the conceige club will be there - So my question to all my great fellow CC's does anyone know if Ricky will be there - I hope so he is great and always remembers us and even by our names. PS: WE GOT A GREAT CABIN 276 square feet. YEAH Hope to see you there Here we come Bermuda - Horseshoe bay is waiting for us. Dave

marci22 Posted May 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2008 You can get good prices on Bermuda 5 nights if you wait 6-7 weeks before sailing and you don't really care what cabin you get. (Which for 5 nights, I don't.)
David21 Posted May 17, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted May 17, 2008 I thought if you wait to the last minute 6-7 weeks the prices are higher not like the old days. I wouldn't want to take the chance of not getting on because we do this every September. I would just think they would go up since there aren't as many ships going to Bermuda this year so we are very limited on the ships going to Bermuda. Dave I think you did get a good rate, just letting others know about my experience. For the dates I wanted, last year and this year, they had 'sales events' about 6-7 weeks prior to sail dates. (they don't do price adjustments on these) And of course you do run the risk of not getting the cabin you want, but the prices were so high when they originally came out for this summer that I decided to wait to book. sea-cruise Posted May 18, 2008 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2008 have a great trip, we had a great time when we went!! We sure did. We were on that 10-06 Bermuda too, although we didn't get to meet you until debarkation morning at the WJ. Will you and R be onboard this one? I'm going to email Samantha & John and see if they can get away on the 6th. They were on the 9 day with us this past December.
MrPete Posted May 18, 2008 #12 Share Posted May 18, 2008 The price drops because the demand drops, as the kids go back to school. Would love a September sailing, but are locked into summer cruises now with a 10 year old. We are sailing one month before you! We couldn't even get a triple JS or OS. Had to take a D1, but it's aft on deck 10.
