Lori0512 Posted April 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2004 When I sent in our coupon for our cruise to our TA, our agent was told by RCCL that we got too good of a bargain on our cruise so coupon would not be honored. We were skeptical, so we called RCCL ourselves and sure enough, it was the truth!! We even asked about getting a partial shipboard credit as compensation for being return guests ~ No dice. I was bummed about it, 'cause I feel it should be a reward for returning to RCCL, not dependant on price paid. However, it is on the back of the coupon that certain restrictions apply, so I now have an expensive souveneir coupon. Oh well, I'll buy a pretty Mexican frame for it in Mazatlan and put it in my curio cabinet. Have a great day everyone!! Lori0512 Posted April 6, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 6, 2004 We got a deal through Harrah's Passport Travel. It's a travel club for casino players that belong to their players club. It's available to anyone who has a players card through any of Harrah's Casinos. I got an ok deal, but it wasn't anything overly spectacular. I got my cruise for about $60.00pp less than the absolute cheapest I could find anywhere else. It was about $125.00 less than RCCL would give us, so I suppose they figure I got my discount already. However my discounted price was for being a good player at Harrah's Casino, so I feel that shouldn't affect my Crown & Anchor return customer loyalty coupon, but it apparently does. I'm still taking the cruise and going to have a great time, but it still bummed me out a bit. thedrunkrock Posted April 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2004 RCI coupons are only good fro certain sailings, if the coupon was good for that sailing they will honor it, the only other peeps that will not honor it can be the TA's, they have the right to refuse it, but as long as it is a coupon that is valid for the particular sailing that you are going on then RCI will accept it unless your TA says NO. Lori0512 Posted April 6, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted April 6, 2004 The coupon was good for the sailing we are on, however the TA must pay a certain amount for the cabin to RCCL or it is considered a restricted fare. We called RCCL directly to get this information, just in case TA wasn't being completely upfront with us. It turns out that the TA was being totally honest, according to what RCCL told us also. We are going to attempt to send the coupon directly to RCCL and see if it will slide by. Can't hurt to give it a shot. samben Posted April 6, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I called our TA regarding a coupon. She told me that since we have already used a coupon we weren't allowed to use another one for that sailing. She said if one was for more money we could that one, but not both. Is that correct? kbt2 Posted April 6, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 6, 2004 samben...yes, that's true only one coupon per cabin. We had a 50 and a 25, so they gave us the 50.00 thank goodness. Majesty Fan Posted April 6, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 6, 2004 The same thing happened to us. We got a $50 saving coupon and hoped to apply it to our sailing but no go. They said our rate was already discounted. Lexi

B J Posted April 7, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 7, 2004 This is interesting.....A couple of months back Crucon sent out a E-mail that said they would double any Royal Caribbean coupon so I challenged my TA and she said she could do it if they could, AND SHE DID! Maybe you should call back and ask for a supervisor.
