martek Posted May 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Yes, another cruise bites the dust!! We got back last Friday from our 4 day Fascination cruise to Key West and Cuzumel. I find myself thinking about what I was doing exactly this time a week ago. Oh well, we are going again in Sept and have a 7 day booked for next May on the Triumph. This was my second time on the Fascination and it was as nice as before with the notable exception of sewage smell throughout the ship. Not very pleasant!! Speaking of sewage, oooohhhhh, Cozumel is stinky!!!! Oh well, very pretty, but stinky. Also, I was not impressed with the food on this trip. We ate in the dining room 2 nights and no more after that. I felt the food was subpar and food on Lido was just as good if not better. The chocolate mud cake was great however and would highly recommend to any and all. I also remember the beds felt more cushy last year than this, but maybe it is just me. Overall it was super, only these couple of things could have been improved upon in my opinion. Can't wait for the next one! Mary:)

2PinaColadas Posted May 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2008 We were on the Fascination in March, but we did not have that problem in Coz. Sorry that you did. I agree with you about the dining room, my DH thinks the portions are too small. We ate on the Lido deck almost every meal. Our bed was great--the best sleep I get all year!! I hope you have a great time on your next cruise-- wish ours next one was in Sept. Have fun.
Rockee4055 Posted May 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Yeah, it's never good to get back from a cruise. The only thing that keeps us going is to book another one. Glad you enjoyed it.
Cruzfan34 Posted May 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2008 I didn't think Cozumel was stinky. You're lucky to be going on a cruise again in Sept. We went in March and our next one isn't until next Feb.
martek Posted May 19, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted May 19, 2008 I guess I should have been more specific, it just seemed that walking along the street in the heat, the smell was overwhelming in certain areas. The sunset cruise more than made up for the smell however and Cozumel itself was beautiful! Last year we went to Calica and took the excursion to Cancun and found it really more interesting for us. Of course, I am more a shopper than anything else, so can't really compare other things. Next time I will take the shopping tour in Cozumel. We found the embarkation so much better than last year. They now have the new terminals and everything runs very smoothly. One thing we really hated was how even though we already had carnival tags on our luggage, the porters at the pier had us all gather around and gave us all colored tags to put our name and room number on, and then we had to find our luggage in the pile and attach the tags. Then...... they had us come back to them and almost demanded tips!!! Of course, I had the tip in hand as I always tip, but found this just a really tacky way to get one! I will remember this for our Sept. trip. The last day was also handled very smoothly and we were on our way to the airport before 10. We spent a lot of time in the casino as we had $400 OBC per cabin and used most of it for the penny slots. Had lots of fun there and my sister won some money at Bingo. Had a few of the drinks of the day, and really loved the lemon drop martini. If you want to get a real kick from a drink, try one of these!! They will not disappoint. I keep remembering more and more and can't wait for my next one.
triplee Posted May 19, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Yeah, it's never good to get back from a cruise. The only thing that keeps us going is to book another one. Glad you enjoyed it. I am glad I am not the only one who suffers (misery loves company) after a cruise. We were on the Fascination if February, this year. Great, wonderful cruise! I could not stand the thought of just looking back on memories, so I had to book a Back-to-Back in September on Glory, and a "mini" 4 day cruise in November!! Then, I am supposed to wait a WHOLE year between cruises? No way! Somewhere between Nov. 2008 and Dec. 2009, I have to get 3 more cruises in to reach PLATINUM! Someday, when I retire, I will book just one cruise a year. The cruise will be 365 days. Lee:D
golf43 Posted May 19, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Cruises are so wonderful. However once they are over it is such a let down unless you have another one planned. We are sailing on the Fascination in July. I can hardly wait. I even dreamed about being on the ship last night. Then I got to thinking that it will be over in just a few days. Maybe we should book another one for next summer. :) Something fun to look forward to.
