Post 1000!

We didn't find CC until our 3rd cruise was booked. Reading it before hand wouldn't have changed how we viewed our cruise, though. Knowing that we aren't high maintenance, nothing anyone would have said would have affected our trip(s). If we'd known about bar set-up, however, our bar tab would have been much, much smaller though :) . We didn't appreciate having a concierge and MIGHT have utilized his services more. CC might have enhanced our trip but nothing could have spoiled it.

After finding CC I was shocked, however, to find that people didn't like NCL and Freestyle dining. CC has made it harder for me to cruise other lines, now. The vitriol and smugness of some some of the people who cruise other lines, really gets to me. On the HAL board, someone posted that there have been some sailing in which almost the entire ship have sailed with HAL exclusively. Given how some of them look down on NCL, I'm scared to sail on one of the ships and even mention that I like NCL. There was a poster who'd sailed with his family in the Garden Villa on the Pearl, I think. He loved the Garden Villa but ended a sentence.."It's a shame that such a great cabin is wasted on a second class line.." . That quip wasn't defended by any other poster in that thread.

I like reading of peoples experiences on NCL. I like learning about my fellow cruisers, knowing that I might sail with some of them, some day. I like giving advice to newbies. I like posting my experiences, hoping that they will help someone else out.

WOW, my 1000th post is an ode to CC and NCL :) .

"Skynyrd... I am very torn when I read someone, such as yourself, who has never cruised before, but is reading all of these posts."

Thanks for your concer, however, I have to say, I am easy to please most of the time. I am happy to sit on the ship and read the day away - I am not too interested in the excursions because by the time I am ready for vacation, I am utterly exhausted! What I am excited about most though are the people on the site, cruising can't be all bad if so so many people are enjoying themselves and discussing the good the bad and the ugly. I am realistic too and I know what I enjoy others might find boring and vice versa. For me, sitting with a few good books by the pool or better yet on the balcony and resting will be heaven and then there's the casino at night......I really should have booked this for sooner! Ah well, anticipation :D
