Victoria - Seattle

Recommended Posts

Which is the best way to travel from Victoria to Seattle? is it the Clipper ferry?

As a passenger?

The Victoria Clipper - http://clippervacations.com/

3 catamarans/day about 3 hrs one way

Kenmore Air (floatplanes) - http://kenmoreair.com/

4-5 flights/day, about 45 mins straight into Victoria's inner harbour. Also there's a shuttle from Seatac if that's where you're starting from. Only downside is luggage allowance.

Horizon Air (part of the Alaska Airlines group) - http://alaskaair.com/

5-6 flights/day from Seatac/SEA to Victoria/YYJ (25km north of town)

With a car?

Coho Ferry - http://cohoferry.com/

Victoria to Port Angeles (2hrs NW of Seattle)

Washington State Ferries - http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries

Sidney (25km north of Victoria) to Anacortes (100km N of Seattle)

The best? Kenmore Air. You'll pay $300 for a 40 min floatplane excursion on a cruise, here you get it for half of that over some pretty impressive scenery. Get to the dock early and yell "SHOTGUN" and you'll be sitting up front in the right seat (of a lovely old deHaviland DHC-2 Beaver).
