jerbeth Posted May 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2008 Does anyone know if any of the cruise lines - Princess in particular - are making any adjustments to their itineraries or shore excursions to accommodate for the garbage problems that are affecting Naples and some of the surrounding areas? Seabee Posted May 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2008 Naples is so dirty I don't know how anyone can tell the difference.
can786 Posted May 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2008 I would doubt they would alter anything due to a garbage strike. A few years ago I was on the (old) Royal Princess and we had a couple of ports in France, where there was a garbage strike going on at the time. Garbage was piled along all the streets, but they did not cancel the ports or alter any excursions. We took a walking tour in Bordeux and it was quite "aromatic". SheilaNC Posted May 22, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2008 Suggest that you post this on the Mediterranean board to get current info from a recent cruiser. Good luck
sail7seas Posted May 22, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2008 Naples is a wonderful portal for tours to Pompeii, Sorento, Capri, Amalfi Coast...... Beautiful!
boating girl Posted May 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2008 I agree that Naples is a great port to go to Sorrento. We skipped Naples and spent the whole day in Sorrento. Take the local ferry about a block from the ship. It costs a fraction of what the cruise ship charges.
