AA cuts STN/London Stansted from 02JUL08

Potential bad news if you'd booked into STN to shorten your trip to Harwich

 

 

American Airlines will discontinue New York JFK - London Stansted service from 02JUL08. The service was launched in November 2007.

Not totally surprised by this as this route was started up explicitly to compete against MaxJet and EOS on the JFK-STN route. Now that both MaxJet and EOS are history, no need to fly that route any longer.

It's beginning to look like one of the more blatant recent examples of anti-competitive behaviour on a high-profile route. I hope that somebody investigates this, and hopefully hits them hard.
