Anchorage Airport shutter to Whittier

Hi, we are first cruiser and getting stuck between car rental, princess transfer OR other coach from ANC to Whittier.

 

1. Car rental has a drop off charge of $100, so total bill is around $250.

 

2. Princess transfer is abt $65 per pax (Is this just a shutter transfer? Will there be a tour guide to introduce Alaska along the way?).

 

3. Private coach has specific timing and pickup location.

 

If I landed in ANC on 12.15PM. How long will it takes for us to pick up luggage and clear custom? Some private coach indicate hotel pickup which is nearby to airport. How do we transfer from airport to those hotels? Are they within walking distance?

 

I called one of the private coach, and she suggest I should go with princess transfer since her pickup time is around 1.00pm.

Are you non US?? If you have to go through customs, allow extra time, up to two hours.

 

Princess transfers are shuttle buses only. No tour guide.

 

Are you coming in a day early?? Some airport hotels do have shuttles, but determine, if this is an area you want to stay in??? Not much there and downtown is way better, with more activites, dining options ect.

The drivers will point out a few things, but won't give a full 1 1/2 - 2 hour talking tour. They will answer questions, if they know the answer. 1/2 the drivers from the tour companies are from out of state and get a quick course on Alaska facts.
