Getting to the San Diego zoo

When we arrive in SanDiego on the Monarch, can anyone tell me the easiest way to get to the zoo? I imagine that will be the only thing we will be able to do on that day! I guess we also need directions back to the ship! Thanks so much for your help!

The easiest would be to take a cab. It is about 5 miles and you should expect to pay about $20 each way. There will be plenty of cabs at the pier, and they are also pretty easy to get at the Zoo.

You can also take a city bus, which will be cheaper, but take a little longer. You will be at the Broadway Pier, and can check out times and routes from this site:

we just got off the Monarch on Friday. We went to the San Diego Zoo, all you have to do is walk outside & there are cabs lined up. It was $15. There are cabs when you come out of the zoo also. Only took about 10 minutes to get there. Very nice zoo. Have fun.
