farjar Posted June 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2008 We will be arriving in Cozumel on the Carnival Legend Nov. 19th. at 10:00am according to the ship's information. How does this correspond to local time? It will be after to US goes off daylight savings time on Nov. 2nd. We've only cruised NCL before and they had us change our clocks so they matched port time. Does CCL do this too? We're trying to book an independent tour and need to figure out what will work. Any information will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you. NCTribeFan Posted June 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Carnival does NOT change to port time. ALWAYS stay on ship time. The independent operators are aware of any time differences. When booking, just give them the time you'll be arriving and specify that it is SHIP time. They do this for a living. They'll know when the ship is due to arrive and depart. Don't use you cell phone as an alarm because it will update to local time.
terryde Posted June 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Currently what is local Coz time? Do they do central daylight? Will be there in July and trying to work with tour operators to see when we arrive versus their excursion times!
farjar Posted June 9, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Dear terryde, This is farjar who posted the original question. I asked the same question on the Cruise Critic Carnival Cruise line board and received helpful information there too. You might want to read those answers also. This web site provided by one responder was very informative. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...p1=867&p2=1235
terryde Posted June 9, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Thanks - this link didn't work. What date did you post the question on the Carnival site? Thanks,

Cozumel is on cst, in the fall there are a few days that they are two hours off eastern time. Mexico did not adopt the new daylight savings schedule as us but remained on old one. Biggest difference is in march when we switch early and they don't until first Saturday of April. If you guys post the date of arrival then we can tell you what the time will be. farjar Posted June 11, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted June 11, 2008 Dear terryde, My original post was June 8 but the thread has been moved up to page 5 (as of now) because of people responding. The link I gave you here I cut & pasted from that thread and it's working on that post. Don't know what happened that it won't work from here. We dock in Cozumel on Nov. 19th, so we should be there after both Mexico & the US go off daylight savings time. Since we sail from Tampa which will be EST to Cozumel which will be CST, our ship arrival time of 10:00am should be their 9:00am and our 6:00pm departure time should be their 5:00pm local time. If you're going while daylight savings time is still in effect in both places, the same situation should be true for you too. Hope that helps.
