PhilUK73 Posted June 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2008 Folks - can anyone advise if I will be able to sort out my evening dress - no point in steaming it now as it will be a bundle of wrinkles when we arrive. We are on the sea princess on Saturday. Thanks, k
ggprincess2004 Posted June 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2008 Yes - you have a couple of choices. Their are passenger laundries aboard with irons and ironing board, for a do it yourself fix. You could send it out for pressing -coordinate with your cabin steward. Enjoy your cruise!:)
tvaud Posted June 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2008 If you send it out for pressing, make sure you give it to your cabin steward as soon as you get your suitcases and unpack. Also, be sure to tell him you need it for the next night(if that is your first formal night.)
mrgoins Posted June 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2008 Word to the wise if you press it yourself check the iron first. I ruined a good shirt that went with really well with one of my suits because someone previously had gone overboard with starch (or something) the face of the iron was covered with brown & black 'crud'. mississauga Posted June 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2008 You could also steam out the wrinkles yourself. Hang your dress on the door, turn your shower on full blast and leave it in there with the door closed and the hot steam should take the wrinkles out. Works every time for us.:D
Amy G Posted July 11, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Does anyone have the price list for getting something pressed, in particular a men's suit?
Dorset Cruiser Posted July 11, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Do it yourself in one of the laundry rooms or hang it in a very steamy bathroom. Have only ever sent two items to the laundry on a ship and both were ruined:( so now I only ever do my own pressing.

cruiseryyc Posted July 11, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Actually on our Sea Princess cruise four weeks ago, the first formal night was the third night onboard. Agree with other posters about hanging it in the bathroom and just steaming out the wrinkles.
Amy G Posted July 11, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks for the tips, but my husband wants it pressed, and will do it before we go, or on board. If anyone has the price list, that would help. Thanks!
YellowDog Posted July 12, 2008 #12 Share Posted July 12, 2008 This sounds like something that needs to be pressed, but for things that dont...three words: Downey Wrinkle Releaser...we dont cruise with out it.:)
julia Posted July 12, 2008 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2008 I always travel with a small plastic "spritz" bottle that can be filled with tap water... not only does it keep you cool at the pool or beach, it works great for smoothing wrinkles out clothes. Just lay out items on the bed and give them a spritz, smooth with your hands and let dry for a few minutes, OR, there's always the "spritz while wearing" method, which is popular in our house! We're also big on the bathroom steam... it really works!
