  1. So very, very sorry to read this news. 😭 Marilyn promptly responded to my email questions regarding the Flower Power cruise, and encouraged us to sign up for it. I was sailing on the Eclipse when the FP2020 bookings opened at 9am EST. At 6am, I was logged on (in the I-lounge) and ready to book, but it was already sold out. I wrote to her then, and we were both disappointed, but said "hopefully we'll sail together one day!". She was very caring and informed. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
  2. Ok, just spent an extremely enjoyable hour reading this thread and reliving our time spent down under. Your photos of the Sounds & NZ brought back lots of memories! Let's get together in Cellar Masters in May a raise a few glasses!
  3. Well, just wrapping up day 6 onboard the Eurodam. 2nd time sailing this ship, but it will definitely be the last time. We are not hard to please, but the negatives just keep adding up. Good: SS suite is very comfortable, nice beds, good cabin steward(s), Elemis products, fresh & tasty Lido food, fun piano bar, Explorations cafe coffees, full promenade deck, BB Kings is great, Tamarind wonderful, Dive-in hot dogs tasty. Bad: Smoking on pool deck, slow bar service, no energy in most bars, crowded MDR, no sailaway entertainment, clocks throughout ship incorrect. Mediocre entertainment. Ugly: very few wines included with the SBP, always "out" of shiraz or cab sauv on SBP, overcharges on SBP, crappy wine pours on SBP. Sigh... not a good experience if you enjoy a variety of wines.
  4. Oh jeeeeeezz..... I totally forgot to check in with the roll call (too many cruises!) Thank you so much for the reminder!
  5. Dam. We'll be on the Eurodam in two weeks, and I'm sad to hear about the wine service in the MDR. That will NOT sit well with me.
  6. No, wines only in Cellar Masters.
  7. Thank you SOOOO much for posting the menu & food pics! We'll be sailing on E-dam in November, and have two nights booked at Tamarind. My DH just said today "I hope they still have the wasabi soy tenderloin!"
  8. Yes, I'm aware that you cannot just pay the difference... thx. You say ONE glass was $11... can I assume there were more choices at a lesser price (like $8-$10 range?)
  9. Aquahound:. I enjoyed your review, both the positive & negative aspects. Can you comment on the drink service in the MDR? We always cruise with a bev package (mostly on Celebrity) and enjoy several glasses of wine with dinner. Were wine stewards readily available, or just the overworked wait staff?
  10. Well, no you can't. This rule is one that is actually enforced on HAL (and Celebrity)... no shorts in the MDR during dinner. May I suggest the buffet?
  11. Thx for the replies... I finally found the SBP, but it wasn't easy. The website terminology is silly and misleading. It's listed with "activities".... since when is a drink package an activity?? 😅
  12. Awesome commentary, pics, and insights! We too, REALLY like the M class ships! Still shaking my head over your cabin flaws though (other thread, folks).... no mirror at the desk would make me crazy!
  13. I am seriously sooo frustrated right now, that I just want to SCREAM!! Yes.... I get it that the HAL cruise line website is flawed, but this is ridiculous. I've spent twenty minutes, searching my booking, and cannot find the SBP drink package! It's only showing the "ELITE PACKAGE" under Indulgences. What the heck??
  14. Officer's quarters most probably... there are doors (not shown on the deck plans) that go into this area, and I've seen crew using them. It will be quiet.
