Princess "Anytime Dining"

We are interested in learning how "Anytime Dining" works in practice in the Main Dining Room on the former R ships (Tahitian Princess, Royal Princess, Pacific Princess). Is it difficult to be seated between the fixed early & late dining times?

Thank you very much.

PC dining allows you to plan your meals around your daily activities, whereas traditional cruise line dining forces you to plan your daily activities around an assigned dinner time. The menus are identical in all the dining rooms.

You can either make reservations or simply show up. I strongly encourage you to make advance reservations, reserving the same table for the entire cruise, particularly if you want to dine during peak hours.

That's fine, except for the three R-class ships (Tahitian soon to be Ocean, Pacific, and the misnamed Royal Princess). I say the Royal is misnamed, as that name should have reserved for a ship of outstanding & innovative design such as the original Royal Princess, a true pace-setter in her day.

There is no Anytime Dining on those ships as there is only one dining room.
