Cruising89143 Posted June 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2008 At this time. No. Maybe we will know later today after the reveal that takes place at 12:30 in New York. Keep an eye on this thread started by Laura. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=794341
Pootle Posted June 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2008 I thought it was public knowledge that it will be sailing from Port Everglades?!?! Maybe I just dreamt that then?!?!?
caribbeanboy Posted June 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2008 For western caribbean they were talking about a new port in Jamaica. Can't remeber the name right now. For the eastern caribbean itinerary they were talking about Antigua and St.Maarten is building another pier (financed by Carnival Corp.) at the moment. I think that cruises on the Oasis will have a lot of sea days.

I think that cruises on the Oasis will have a lot of sea days. St Maarten is building a new pier that is being financed by both Carnival and RCCL so that they get docking priority. Carnival is paying for more of the construction of the pier. Falmouth in Jamaica is currently building a new pier for the Oasis class of ships. RCI announced that they were building a new pier for Labadee. San Juan can already handle the ship as can St. Thomas at the Crown Bay terminal. Costa Maya also announced that the reconstructed pier that opens soon can handle the Oasis.
serena_17 Posted June 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Hi, I've just looked at the Oasis video and think that it's an amazing ship - the ports of call almost seem secondary to the journey on board. What are the chances that RCCL will take Oasis out of the Caribbean and go to some o/s ports? It's certainly big enough and it would fill with passengers who like the long term cruises and then additional passengers from the O/S ports. danvan Posted June 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Here's the first intinerary: The first itinerary is no big surprise, including a melange of the usual Eastern Caribbean mega ports. Through April, the Ft. Lauderdale-based Oasis of the Seas will call at St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau. There will be three sea days on the week-long trip. http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=2650
morebeaches Posted June 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Now I am not sure if "sailing" would be the best term. My understanding is you get on in Ft Lauderdale walk to the back of the ship and get off in Nassau. the same would be true in St. Thomas and St Maartin :D
