Clearing immigration in Labadee?

Hi All,

My DH and I are traveling on the Mariner of the Seas in Sept on a W. Caribbean itinerary. I'm American but my DH is not. He is a permanent resident (greencard holder). Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica do not require a visa for green card holders. I cannot find that info for Haiti. My DH is from a country that would normally be required to have a visa and if we were traveling to Haiti by airplane, it would be issued at the airport. My questions are: 1) does anyone know if by going to Labadee, you are subject to the immigration policies of Haiti? I know that sounds dumb but I'm not sure as it's a private part of the island and 2) is anyone here a green card holder that has traveled to Labadee? Were there issues?

Thank you in advance. We're so excited for our cruise and just want to make sure we have everything in order to avoid issues at the pier!

we went to Labadee in 2006 and there were no immigration issues then We are not US citizens or Green card holders. On Boarding they kept our passports and they were returned to us on the third day. We needed Visas for the US and Mexico. Nothing for Labadee (Haiti).

One of the nice things about cruising

is that you have a sort of magical Carte Blanche

once you are in legal possession of that all-important SHIP CARD.

A ship-card is the only thing I know that beats a passport.

I travel on a UK or Barbados passport as it suits me to (I have both)

my wife travels on a Barbados passport.

We've done two Caribbean cruiises,now

both out of -and returning to- Barbados where we live.

On both cruises, once we had our ship cards we came and went as we pleased

at any and every port of call!

Neither of our passports was of any use whatsoever, until we got back to our home country Barbados!

I've never travelled so easily up and down the Caribbean islands in my life!

Were this Air Travel, we woulda bin filling out countless annoying Immigration forms, going thru Customs...grrrrr!

Did I mention how I just LOVE Air Travel?

Ship cards are pure magic,kiddo.. and for once in my Caribbean life

I enjoyed the carte blanche that American cruisers do!

Show that card and you're cool, man!:)

I reckon NO island Guvament worries one damn about you/what your nationality is/green-card holder or not!

They know danged well you gonna find yo' ass back on board that sweet floatin Palace when the time comes

...they not worried about you runnin away NOwhere!

I'll say it again..

A Ship-Card beats all - even a Passport!
