uncrowded beaches with amenities

Are there any nice beaches that rent umbrellas, have refreshments, etc. but aren't absolutely packed when the cruise ships are in town? We'll be at King's Wharf but will have a bus pass and are willing to go anywhere on the island. Last time we visited Bermuda, we went to some beach near the port. It was beautiful, but small and so crowded we couldn't breathe.

Any beach that has amenities like refreshments and umbrellas is going to draw people. And likewise any beach that does not draw people is not likely to have refreshments and rent chairs and umbrellas.

If you could compromise on an uncrowded beach easy to get to by bus from St. George I would recommend John Smiths Bay. Not crowded, rudimentary facilities, a few refreshments sold from a trailer stand. No umbrella or chair rentals but you could bring your own or set up under the cave like area that is at one end. And as a bonus after a glorious day at the beach you can stop by the Swizzle Inn on the way back to St. George.

although it does get crowded, you should visit Horseshoe Bay Beach. Absolutely beautiful .... and worth the crowds..... :)

I just noticed the other person said they were going to be at Kings Wharf. For some reason I thought they said St. George. Probably because they said they went to a small beach. Certainly the beach to go to is Horseshoe. It may get crowded but it is a large beach and if you walk away from the area where the facilities are it gets less crowded.
