Shopping in Cozumel

We're sailing on the Imagination next week and will be in Cozumel Saturday from 7 am to 10 pm. Does anyone know what time the shops close on Saturday? Should we shop early and then hit the beach, or can we do it later in the evening??

You might ask this question on the Ports of Call board for Cozumel. There's usually someone from Cozumel on that board.

I was there in August. Don't know what time the shops downtown closed, but several near where Triumph docked were open until at least 9 PM.

I think I recall that the shops were open until early evening on saturday when we were there. If there is a major cruise ship in port they are most likely to stay open...and there is a ship in port every day now in Cozumel. There may be some traditional sunday closings, but otherwise it should not be a problem.

 

Be careful about your credit cards there. Lots of reports of identily theft and huge charges showing up on credit card accounts after passengers left Cozumel....some into the many thousands of dollars.

I love the shops - Viva Mexico - They have lots of arts & crafts made by local people and the prices aren't bad.

We've been to Cozi a couple times and I think I remember that they are open till at least nine....
