Ballantyne Pier Transportation Vancouver

Recommended Posts

In need of suggestions for transportation from Ballantyne Pier to Vancouver entertainment district hotel for 6 adults plus luggage. Millennium docks at 7am. Since we're not sure of the time we will be allowed to disembark, we can't pre-reserve transportation. Are there always cabs available at Ballantyne? What about vancabs for 6 people? Any tips are greatly appreciated since I've read that the Ballantyne area is not a safe area to walk around.

The area around Ballantyne Pier is OK....it's once you get over the railway tracks that you are in a nasty neighbourhood...so just getting off the ship you will be OK.

As for cabs....there will be cabs at the pier but whether or not a van shows up is a guess. You can call for one from the pier...or...given that too many cabs in Vancouver are now small cars you may be just as well off to take two small cabs to your hotel. You also have to consider that you will have bggage for 6 which can create a problem in itself.

Depending on what hotel you are staying at you should check to see in advance of the cruise if they have a courtesy van...or can arrange for a van/limo to pick you up.

You'll probably find it's cheaper to just take two cabs, rather than trying to arrange for a van and/or limo. It's only a $10/15 cab ride.

Another warning, Vancouver cabs are generally COMPACT cars. Toyota Corollas and Toyota Prius make up the fleet for most companies
