Barcelona hotels

Hi. I'm looking for hotel recommendations in Barcelona, convenient to airport and pier, with shuttle service provided by hotel, if possible. Thanks....

You'll get tons of responses on this question because there are a lot of really nice hotels in BCN. You can also search this forum and find these answers. The answer depends on what you're looking for in a hotel in BCN - just a place to lay your head or do you want a hotel better than a Motel 8?

 

We have stayed in a couple of locations but our favorite is Hotel 1898. We also have stayed at the Hotel Monte Carlo. Both are on Las Ramblas with lots of street action right in front of your door and are very convenient. Taxi to the pier is around $25E and the same to/from the airport. We were never bothered by the noise and had balcony rooms at both locations. Hotel 1898 beats HMC hands down. H1898 has a great restaurant also where MC only serves breakfast.

 

There are also a couple of sister hotels a lot of cruisers use that offer free breakfasts and drinks - Hotel Continental is one of them. These get mixed reviews but they're cheap and easy if you don't mind the plastic chairs.

It was clean, convenient, inexpensive, and the employees friendly and VERY helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! (no shuttle...we took a cab)
