Fam_Cruise Posted July 8, 2008 #127 Share Posted July 8, 2008 Thanks so much for the wealth of info you are providing us! It is SO helpful. I am contemplating booking a spa balcony, and wonder if the extra amenities are worth it. Thanks for the pricing info on the therapy pool and thermal suite. I'm wondering if you know (or could find out) what type of discount on spa services the spa stateroom guests get? The Carnival website mentions a discount, but doesn't say how much.Use of the therapy pool and thermal suite are included when you book Spa accommodations. Also 2 classes (yoga, pilates, etc) are included when you book Spa accommodations. I was unaware there were discounts on Spa services, but I will be ecstatic if I get a discounts on my massages. My husband Tony and myself have been drooling over the food--that steak looks fab! is that the dining room menu or the supper club?.Do you think it is worth booking the supper club on a 3 nighter. Hope you and all the others from the july 2nd roll call are having a good time. Nola--can I be cheeky and say that if your camera has nothing better to do--- the 10th july roll call will be having a drink in the piano bar around 7.30.lol. Regards. Cruiseboy06 Posted July 9, 2008 #133 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Hey great pics of Spendlor!!! I can't wait for her to come California to replace Pride... I have question, as a disabled cruiser I havent seen alot of improvement in wheelchair via pool.. Have they installed "wheelchair/disabled pool chair lift? US Supreme court ruled in 2005 all of cruise ships must be wheelchair accessible if they wwant to port in US, which Carnival is No in a way, I am b$tching, but its a question.. nolaAlive Posted July 9, 2008 Author #135 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Nola, Thanks again for all the pictures and info. Since you are on an extended holiday, my guess is you will either be doing laundry, or engaging the laundry service. To that end how much do they charge for the wash and fold laundry service? Is there a mid-week special? Actually in my case, for the Aug 6 12-day sailing with 6 land days before and 6 land days after, I would want to do laundry on first and last sea days so probably will have to engage the full cost wash and fold laundry service, or heaven forbid do it myself. Once again thanks in advance for the info - Bob Wash and fold is free for Platinum members. Membership has it's privileges! Once, maybe twice, they have had the $15 stuff a laundry bag specials. I'll try to find the price list for commoners. :D

Yes, if you could be so kind as to inquire about the regular prices for Dirt members, that would be greatly apppreciated. ;)

sandgrace Posted July 9, 2008 #141 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Yes, they have scheduled activities, although I have not personally participated in any of them. ;) I took most pics in between hurricanes when the kids were somewhere else, so there was still a little bit of picking up to do. I didn't know it was not allowed to take pictures when kids were there (but makes sense to me). It did not take them long to tell me to get lost. I was impressed with that. There are also cameras (ala a casino) keeping an eye on everything. It is broken down by age group: 2-5 yrs, 6-8 yrs, 9-11 yrs... They publish the schedules so you can see what might be appealing. I picked up some and will try to get on the website as an example. I think (?) Carnival reads CC, so thanks for the endorsement![/quote It's good to know that they told you to get lost (in a good way), it does make sense that they don't let people take pics of the kids area safety is always my biggest concern and that gives me confidence in their security. I'd love to see the schedules when you get a chance that would be great! We've cruised on Disney several times with our daughter, and I've never seen what other cruiselines children's programs have to offer. You are very welcome for the endorsement, and I hope that Carnival does read these boards because your wonderful pics make Splendor look very spendid! sandgrace Posted July 9, 2008 #142 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Hi sandgrace. My DW and I took my DD5 on a Carnival cruise last Dec '07. DD5 loved Camp Carnival which totally surprised us. CC has schedules printed daily and all the activities are really fun. They even included a build-a-bear day. On the Freedom they had about 10 monitors setup in one section of the room for the older kids with playstation 2s and many choices of games. I almost sat down to play for a while but DW pulled me out of the room. :D Thanks for the info! Our DD3 would love a build-a-bear day that's right up her alley! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation(s) with us!! We got off the Triumph a couple of weeks ago and seeing your pics has me wanting to book the Splendor outta LA for our next summer vacation!! Can you tell me what cabin # you are in? I may look into getting a 1A for next cruise if DD is not sailing with us. DH & I can survive a week of not sleeping together for the sake of having portholes!! LOL

happy cruzin Posted July 10, 2008 #147 Share Posted July 10, 2008 Ok...I have a question......in this picture...the deck directly above the Lido is what? Additional seating that is shaded?? What else is up there? I guess I am used to the deck above the Lido being an open deck and this one definately does not look "open". Hey NolaAlive....any insight:confused:
