Island Flower Posted July 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2008 I'll have my first aft cabin next cruise and was wondering... You all have told me how great that big verandah is... Do you have a great view of the night sky out there? Also... do you remember any bright lights positioned around the back of the ship that are going to infringe on the darkness?
soraya Posted July 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2008 Hi there, I have my first aft cabin booked too and am very excited about it. UK TA's always quote for midships cabins because they think that they're more stable. I always get a mystified why would you want one when I ask! So casting caution to one side, I managed to book on for our South American cruise around Cape Horn of all places. But I was told that the weather there tends to be either very calm or very rough and if it's rough it wont matter where you are! I think that stargazing is a definite possibility -weather permitting. I saw a video on youtube from the aft cabins and it looked great. I've not kept the details because it wasn't a south american cruise but you should be able to find it. NorthernLite Posted July 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2008 For the southern hemisphere especially an aft is great! We saw stars down there that we miss way up here. The Southern Cross was amazing. We were on deck 8 center back cabin and lights were not a problem. Actually the view from the back bar on deck 10 is pretty good on a clear moonlit night.
