***LIVE from the Mariner 7/13***

I have got a question, can you find an eggroll anywhere on the ship. It's a weird question, but I was just wondering. I'm glad to hear that you are having a great time. Hope your eyes get better.

Austin:)

I was on Mariner last year and there is an oriental section of Windjammer that is pretty good and I think there were egg rolls. There's also a sushi bar in the evenings where sushi is freshly prepared to order. Hope this helps.

Hey everyone.

What is going to happen Sunday when they want me off this ship and I refuse???!!

Diva ~~ using laptop from conceirge room. Its peaceful and cool in here. The reception from the room is random.

Zoe ~~ the newlywed couple had just got married 10 hours earlier and was with a large wedding party.

I will get the wine info and adventure ocean info later today.

So we got off here in Grand Cayman and went to the Hard Rock for lunch...it was PACKED!! We then strolled the shops and went and sung a song or two at the Magarittaville bar. Daughter bought some jewelry, perfume and "garbage". Son got some cologne.

Came back and had a manicure, then hubby and I had our afternoon coffee and strolled..ran into some Roll Call people and chatted.

Tonight is a great show and then Battle of the Sexes. I am still exhausted from last night's activities and little sleep....but have to go on:D

Tomorrow we are in Cozumel, and will go to Paradise Beach. It seems most of our roll call is going there, so it should be fun. Then we'll come back (plan on getting off early and staying at the beach for maybe 2 hours) and go shopping. We are there from 10-7. Tomorrow night we are returning to Chops for dinner. It will be sad to say then we will begin our return to Florida. Maybe if I hide, they won't find me..I have enough clothes to stay another week;)

For those who have never cruised before and will be going on this ship, or any other ship, WOW...you have no idea what an amazing adventure you are about to experience. There is nothing like cruising!!!!

Hey Denice,

Hope your eyes are much better! Can't believe you didn't make the L&M! I tried to call and couldn't get through even though you were upset that can't connect with your friends back home...Hello!!!!

Andrea..you are my friend, but you are actually "family"...so you are in a seperate catagory:D . I did call you FIRST this afternoon. I got phone service so I called markalana, and dgbg and others. Made me feel better to touch base with everyone. After I type all this here, I just can't re-type it all in an email, so I really haven't been using emails much.

Tonight is formal night. Hubby is refusing to dress up (fine with me) and will just wear dark pants and button down shirt (no tie). I have a dressy sundress I think I am wearing but it doesn't go with MY GLASSES!!!  So I may wear a sparkly silver top and dressy black capri pants (wait..that doesn't go with my glasses either...NOTHING DOES:eek: )

Going to go take shower and figure out this clothing problem. Maybe bumping into walls and not waving back to people who wave to me might be worth it not to wear the glasses (I am seriously BLIND without them). Hmmmmmmmmm

Will check back here later....

Denice phoned this afternoon from Grand Cayman! ....She's having a great time, but will probably need a vacation when she returns to NC -- How much longer can she keep going with sooooooooooo little sleep????? Napping is just not her style!

How exciting that you booked your next cruise! Has your countdown begun??? How many more days till Freedom???

BTW, forget the vanity----I suggest wearing glasses to dinner tonight so that you can see what your eating...that way you won't miss your mouth!

Say hi to Harv, Blake and Jessie! (and did you find that eggroll?)

I love sushi too! It was pretty good, but nothing will be as good as your favority local joint. Yes, it's prepared there and No, I don't have any pics. But I have seen them here on cc. Do a thread search for Mariner & Sushi as keywords and see if you can find them.

Hey everyone!! What a night! It's 12:30am and I got in about 15 minutes ago.

Dinner in the dining room..it was ok. The menu didn't thrill me.

Then we went to the Platinum/Diamond reception. Now here is where this gets good. I met Drew Devine, CD, at the reception line and we chatted away. While talking to him (he leaves the ship Sunday till Feb), Abe, the CD replacing him comes over and introduced himself to me. The 3 of us chatted for maybe 10 minutes. Drew is a DOLL, but so was Abe. Anyway, we went in and listened to the speeches, then Drew came and sat down with me and hubby and another couple we were with, and talked with us for maybe 30 minutes. What a nice guy!! I think I may have a new crush!! He just honestly seems like the nicest guy. Abe is a cutie pie!!

Then we went and saw the 80s show..it was ok.

Then was the Battle of the Sexes. Well.......for those who know it, the room was divided in half...male and female as a cheering section, then they pick 5 women and 5 men, like a Family Feud set up and put them on stage and they battle it out one on one with brains and trivia and physical challenges. Anyway, I was one of the women on stage...it was HYSTERICAL. The women won!!!! We had to do some physical battles and the last one was....taking a connect 4 chip..sticking it in you butt crack through the clothing, squeezing it in, and walk with it on the dance floor, over to a bucket and squat and drop it!! I DID IT PERFECTLY!!! lol!!!!

Then I went to the casino and won a little and played till about midnight. I am exhausted again...but what a great way to feel on this ship.

We are getting up about 7am, and plan to be off the ship at 10 to take the taxicab ride to Paradise beach and then go shopping. I don't think I will get to post till late afternoon, but we'll see...

Good morning!!

So for those following my pinkeye saga...my eyes looked ok yesterday but not great, so I decided to throw in some visine and hmmmmm didn't look bad, so I opened a new pack of contacts and wore them from 5pm till 1am and the eyes stayed ok! This morning they are so-so, they may be mad at me, so haven't decided if I will put them in for the beach, or wait and try them again for tonight...possibly the second choice.

So we are up..I slept badly, but waiting to dock in Cozumel about 9:30am. We will get off asap and head to Paradise Beach for about 2 hours, then come back and drop off stuff, and head off to shop. We are here till 7pm.

Tonight we are excited to go back to Chops. There is a headliner show, one only, at 7:45. Not sure I will go (might need to visit the casino). At 10pm to 11pm is the outdoor nightclub, poolside. Considering the great time I had the other night up there, I will be there and not sit out one dance!!! At 11:15 is the Quest, and I will not miss that, nor a chance to see Drew in action. The dancing in the Dragon's Lair starts at midnight (usuallly doesn't start till 1), so I want to go and dance more!!:D

I know everyone must know this, but want to mention it anyway. Just because I say something is so-so, or just ok, or that I didn't like it, doesn't mean any of you will agree with me. It's my personal opinion, and should not influence anyone, or make someone not want to eat it, or go to it, or experience it. Even if I am not thrilled with something, or liked something, doesn't mean I wouldn't re-visit it again, because not everything will be perfect on a cruise. But even "ok" is ok. It doesn't mean you avoid it..you still take a bite of every part of that apple!!:D (even seeds and core can be eaten)

The sky turned cloudy and very dark and ominous and it is raining. Hmmmmm, I hope we go right through this, or we will have to go to plan B, and that will leave the beach out...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.   I should also mention we have had PERFECT weather this entire trip!

Good morning DGBG and Markalana! The phones are semi-working...called lovethepalms just now and she couldn't hear me, but I heard her, but we are still over an hour away from arriving in port. Seas are a little choppy now (white peaks), no sun, dark sky, again, hope we are going through it and leaving it behind, and that it doesn't follow us to Cozumel:eek:  .

I set sail on the 27th on Mariner and you've made me even more excited about our first cruise. Thanks so much for your posts. Thanks for the answer to my hangars question.

I do have another quick question for you. DH and I are coffee drinkers. Do they have Splenda on the ship? Just wanted to know if I should throw some packets in a ziploc baggie. TIA

If I have half as much fun as you are they'll have to drag me off the ship kicking and screaming too! LOL

Denice.............If I'm not mistaken, Drew Devine was the assistant on the July '05 Voyager we were on. He was just finishing his "training" and right after that he became a CD on another ship. Ask him........see if I'm right. Also, was he the one married to Mary, an officer, who headed up the bars? I'm reaching back into this brain.........something about him is familar.....and he was a cutie!!!
