firstplacechef Posted July 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Any suggestions for seafood near the pier area for a group? Not looking for gourmet but local seafood. Thanks in advance, Scott

Northshorecruisers Posted July 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Anthony's Fish Grotto is just down the street from the pier. They've hosting many large groups prior to sailing. Go in and Google San Diego and you will find many restaurants close to the pier.
Splinter Posted July 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Anthony's is more casual, and is a much-loved and long standing family-owned restaurant. Nothing fancy, but decent seafood, much of it locally caught. Generally they do not take reservations, but may make arrangements for a large group. The Fishmarket has two levels. The upstairs level is more elegant (and more expensive) than the downstairs. The downstairs area has a private dining room that will hold about 20 that I have used many times for special events. Both have wonder views across the Bay toward Coronado, so best appreciated during daylight or early evening hours. They are the best places close to the pier. firstplacechef Posted July 12, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Thanks Splinter, I had a list of scores of restaurants but wanted some first hand knowledge of those that been there. Several of our CC group want to get together before the cruise and meet for dinner and/or a drink the night before the cruise and most of us seem to be near the pier area in different hotels. Thanks again. Scott
