Fort Lauderdale

We will be spending a couple of days in Fort Lauderdale before or after a cruise. We won't have a car so will need to use taxis. Are there any recommendations regarding hotels and interesting things to see and do?

I highly recommend an Everglades airboat excursion. Surprisingly beautiful area with probability of seeing alligators and some spectacular birds. If you stay on the beach, town is an easy walk. I also recommend the canal cruise tour, very interesting and similar to a hop-on hop-off bus.

After our last sailing we stayed at the Ft Lauderdale Hilton Beach Resort. It was a lovely hotel and close to many things to do. We did everything via taxi as well.

Here is another vote for the Everglades Airboat Ride -- we loved it.
