golf cart rentals

i am looking for info on golf cart rentals as we have a couple of cane walkers in our group, does anyone have any info? can they be reserved ahead of time as we are the last ship to arrive in port that day.

Been asking the same question Parothead. It seems as if no one knows or they rent solely on a first come first serve basis. What worries me is the sudden increase of cruise ships there due to other port closures. Some posters state that there are even long lines now for cabs. If I hear anything I will let ya know on our thread. :o

Found this on Cruisereviews.com dated August 2004 so the rates should be the same?

Costa Maya:

There are a lot of nice shops right at the pier in Costa Maya. Just outside the main entrance you can rent a golf cart and drive into the town. We did this and had a blast. The rental was only $12 per hour, and we took it for 3 hours. We went through the main town and pulled in on the beach where we were served and we able to use their chairs and umbrellas, as long as we purchased food/beverages from them. The same beach was used by Carnival for $89 all inclusive. Imagine if 4 of you booked the all inclusive beach break tour , which would be almost $400 U.S. for 4 of you. We paid $36 for the golf cart and the beers were only $1 each. We didn’t even spend $70 for the 4 of us for the entire day. Do these tours yourself.

when you stop at the beach,,,how do you keep someone else from taking your cart??? do you have a lock, or do you just take the key with you???
