njsteve Posted October 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2004 I am bringing my own wine for use in my cabin. Will the room stewart bring wine glasses to my room? [Remember I'm a pain in the ass about this ****!]

Bunkie103 Posted October 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2004 We didn't have wine glasses in our room, but I was able to go to one of the bars and ask for two wine glasses which we used in our room. If you leave them on the counter your steward will probably take them, so we rinsed them and put them on the shelf in the closet. :D
Cotton Posted October 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2004 There will be a variety of glasses in your room, wine, champagne and water/highball. In all my cruises (Carnival, NCL, Princess) - I've had only water glasses in the cabin. I also take my own wine, and I go to one of the bars and get a wine glass. I tell the steward to leave it in the cabin, and it's always there!
afrayedknot Posted October 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2004 I get wine glasses from the bar in the aft of the ship which are kind of look alike cut crystal and easy 4 me to wash and keep (in the cupboard) also sometimes bring disposable wine and/or champagne glasses and reuse ... it's my vacation- I booked a suite this time so have a fridge, really don't want 2 drink champagne out of the bathroom drinking glasses.... dtchem1 Posted October 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Nothing tastes better than a fine wine from a paper cup, where's your sense of adventure? You probably want a cork screw to open it too!
Mike A Posted October 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Do Cat 11 Suites on Spirit Class Ships have glasses in the room?
tef43 Posted October 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2004 There will be a variety of glasses in your room, wine, champagne and water/highball. Only in a Cat 12, perhaps an 11. Otherwise it's only water glasses.
linrns Posted October 18, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2004 We were in a cat 11 suite and our daughtes were in a cat 6 on the Spirit in March 2002. There were wine glasses and a variety of other glasses in both cabins.
Slinkiecat Posted October 18, 2004 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2004 We just returned from the Fascination 3-day cruise to Nassau, and our cabin had only two water glasses. We did all our drinking in the dining room and theater anyway, so it didn't matter.

sargejenn Posted October 18, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 18, 2004 We were in a category 5A room on the Miracle and had 2 wine glasses, 2 champagne glasses, 2 hi-ball glasses, and 2 water glasses in our room. When I took one out of the room and left it in the casino (oops), it was replaced the next day!
GoinCruisin Posted October 18, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Sounds like it depends on the ship and category... We were on the Sensation, OV cabin... no glasses other than water glasses....
Ms Belvedere Posted October 18, 2004 #14 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Only in a Cat 12, perhaps an 11. Otherwise it's only water glasses. Sorry, maybe we're special :p but we've had them on every cruise. Wonder if it's because we have a bottle of wine in the room waiting when we get there? I'm surprised to read that they aren't in all rooms.

But we didn't, the glasses were there, and we used them. :p  Now, has the OP's question been answered?
GoinCruisin Posted October 18, 2004 #18 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Sorry I misunderstood.... I though you said you had a bottle of wine waiting in there, and in that case they would have wine glasses... my misunderstanding... sounds like you got lucky!!!!!! :)
Ms Belvedere Posted October 18, 2004 #19 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Sorry I misunderstood.... I though you said you had a bottle of wine waiting in there, and in that case they would have wine glasses... my misunderstanding... sounds like you got lucky!!!!!! :) We did have a bottle from our TA, I think the glasses may be a hit or miss thing like towel animals, though. I apologize for being a smart a$$ and hope everyone gets glasses or can ask their room stewards for them!
GoinCruisin Posted October 18, 2004 #20 Share Posted October 18, 2004 From what I understand, if you have wine ordered to your cabin (by a TA or Carnival), they will put glasses in there... I ordered a bottle and asked specifically, so that may be the reason. It would be nice if they had them in every cabin... hard to smuggle on wine glasses!! :D But either way, you can get some from the bar...
