fabby50 Posted July 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Hey! Next weekend, we are going on our last Monarch voyage before she leaves Calif. (boo hoo!). I had heard that they were doing away with the Latin band that played at night. Loved sitting in the lounge, drinking a mojito, listening to the music and watching the salsa dancers. Is the band gone? What kind of live music do they now have a night? Thanks - we will really miss the Monarch - loved the Catalina, San Diego, Ensenada route for a great, inexpensive get-away! WehoAtlantis Posted July 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2008 While we were there, the orchestra was still playing in Boleros if that is what you meant. Have a great cruise, Mike
fabby50 Posted July 18, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Thanks for the info! What I'm speaking of is a three piece ensemble they had - lady singer, a guitar player and a keyboard player. The did Latin music and would play in Bolero's - two sets a night. They were great. There were also some crew members who were great salsa dancers and fun to watch. Are they still aboard? Thanks :)
birdie16 Posted July 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2008 On the same topic of music on the Monarch, what have they done to replace the dueling pianos?
