FinelyRetired Posted July 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2008 Good Evening Ladies: Perhaps a repeat question. If anyone has a good link to a long discussion on this thread that already covers what I'm about to ask, please feel free to post a link. My cruise in January '09 covers: 4 days- Barcelona; Malaga, Seville, Canaries, Morocco, Cairo, Egypt, Athens, Malta, Rhodes & Cypress. Last 2 cruises were early June to Baltics/early August Brit Isles. I try to pack light & use ship's cleaning. That effort leads to packing my usual (all be they bland, neutral) suspects for touring days: Pair Black slacks Pair Khaki or Beige Slacks Pair of Black shorter 25"-26" pants(sea days, active port days(caves, parks) Pair of kahki or beige 25"-26" (same purpose) 2-3 Cotton Twin sets- (you guessed it black/cream/maybe a teal or turq.) 2-4 T's, short/long sleeved/ blk/cream/one maybe a very dark read. Heavier cotton marled blk/tan sweater Fun cotton fitted blazer-type jacket Rain Jacket-Below hip/reversible (blk/tan :) ) This plan works pretty well for me. But.......wondering about bringing the following adds or/ exchanging the fabric weights of some of the items, etc. for Barcelona, etc. 1. Took a wonderful, fitted "sueded" light weight(poly-nylon)tan jacket to the Baltics this summer. Wore it 1-2 times. Would this be WARM enough with layering in Barcelona in Jan, or should I think heavier? 2. Should I switch out a twin-set in cotton for cashmere/merino wool? I took a light cardigan w. wool this summer....even tho temp in 50-60's it was rainy/humid & never wore it. When it's 50's in Barcelona what's the humidity? 3. Should I add a pair of good, light worseted wool slacks? 3. Should I add a short, fitted Tan fine worseted wool blazer I have? 4. I have a small, short (63"x12") pashmina that's soft & warm, wraps thin & does not scream "snow in New England," would I use it? Do I need? Any other advice or experience. What you packed and did or did not use, etc. is appreciated. Most of the ports look like May/June in Northeast, Barcelona more like March/April?
