jschafer6161 Posted July 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Just did a search for Hotwire and they list a resort for $229 a night. some of you sound like you know the name of the place before you actually buy it. How do you know this? Should I snag the $229 or wait for a better price?
Nanatravel Posted July 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Just did a search for Hotwire and they list a resort for $229 a night. some of you sound like you know the name of the place before you actually buy it. How do you know this? Should I snag the $229 or wait for a better price? This is how I ''check" out the hotel name; On the home page go to Packages, key in your local major airport Like Boston Logan; the dates 2 nights including the actual date you need to stay, the area you want to stay in, etc. You are not going to book anyway. You will get a list of Hotels with names but the prices will include airfare. Now look for Resort, write down the star rating and note all of the icon amenities. End Go back to HOme page and request the date of stay you need, necessary information, enter. You will come up with just the Star Ratings, Price and icons. Check both the star rating and icons. Usually this is how I get the hotels I want or at least find out the name. The El San Juan Resort & Casino is the hotel with a casino on Isle Verde that we got for 11/2 but at $153. I am sure it all depends on when you are cruising. Good Luck. Nanatravel
Nanatravel Posted July 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Julie, I checked it out. Used 2/28/09 for 1 night and came up with the Intercontinental Hotel @ $234. I think this is high but then it is prime tourist season. I would wait a little bit. The difference in the Icons from the Intercontinetal and the El San Juan are Firness center and Golf Nearby that El San Juan states. Bon Voyage Nanatravel

frito58 Posted July 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Have you tried Priceline for your hotel? I find it to be cheaper than hotwire.

Kikkycat Posted July 24, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2008 I got the Intercontinental for one night post-cruise on Priceline by bidding $99 below the rate that was suggested for the Resort rate. Got it for $170 for 2/1/09. This was done last week.
