jencredible Posted July 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2008 My husband & I will be going on our first cruise, 10/12/08 on the Valor, and are extremely excited. We haven't even cruised yet, but we are talking about where to go for our next, so we are obviously addicted-already!:p These boards have been so much help, and I am subscribed to SO many threads, I just want to learn everything I can in preperation! I was curious though- I've read about so many wonderful aspects of cruising-is there anything that you don't like? Obviously nothing enough to keep you from cruising, but something you wish would be different?
wcurry66 Posted July 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2008 i would love to be able to swim at 5 am. i'd love to get coffee delivered to my room and left outside my door, so it's magically there whenever i wake up. and i'd love to be able to request my dining room waitstaff by name before i get on the boat. but that's it. if only life was that close to perfect
*Mach* Posted July 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2008 The only thing I'd change would be some of my fellow passengers. Some folks think that because they're on a cruise that they instantly become special in some way or another. Their wants MUST be attended to before anyone else, etc... Pretty much the same rude folks you encounter on land, I suspect... That and getting off the ship. I HATE to see my cruise end...
yarlenna Posted July 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I would love to have the "tips" just be part of the fare. I would love to have good coffee in the lido. I would love to have sugar-free lemonade. BUT mostly I would love to be on a cruise right now.
Wennfred Posted July 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Well, one thing for sure, you selected one of the best ships in the fleet for your first cruise. You will totally like the Valor. buddyjo143 Posted July 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I wish they wouldn't make me leave at the end of the cruise. :p I wish there were more cruises out of Boston. That's about it. Each cruise has good and bad things but that's it.
Kurbanfan Posted July 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I wish Carnival had anytime dining......oh wait they are working on that:D I wish they had a better beer selection and price.......... I wish they had paper towels in the public restrooms instead of those stupid blowers..... I wish they had more itineraries that only had one sea day.......... I wish I was on a cruise now........ cruzeluver Posted July 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I love cruising. Love it, love it, love it. But I do not care for the current bigger, bigger trend. I understand that the cruise lines want to lure in those for who the "allure of the seas" is not enough for them. They want more and more "stuff" onboard. All well and good, but ships are getting so dang loud! Still love 'em though, and its not enough to make me stop.

jpg1747 Posted July 25, 2008 #12 Share Posted July 25, 2008 So you go totally nude?? what cruise are you going on? :D Fred I do when I hot tub/swim at friends houses. It's always clothing optional. I would love to see that option on a cruise sometime.
mom&me_cruising Posted July 25, 2008 #13 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Hate having to wake up early on the last day to disbark -- it is bad enough I have to leave the ship, but does it have to be that early. Yeah, ok, I know (and understand) they have to prep for the next cruise, but that does not mean I have to like it.

Rowan555 Posted July 25, 2008 #21 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I don't like that the pools and hot tubs close so early. I don't like that the fake iced tea is the only sugar free cold beverage option on the Lido Deck other than water. I don't like that I usually am not able to order croissants via room service in the middle of the night, even though they're on the menu and it doesn't say "breakfast only" - I don't know WHY that bugs me so much, but it just does. That's pretty much it! I LOVE CRUISING!!!
MiamiCruiseGuy Posted July 25, 2008 #22 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Chair hogs, and that attitude, that some have where they think they are the only ones on the ship. I think the chair hogs may also be the line jumpers...... Now on to that thing about nude in the public hot tub LOL...can someone say pass the chlorine please, not sure I am ready to know what is really going on under all those bubbles :D :D :D Everything else for me is GRRRRRRRRReat! TakeMeAway1001 Posted July 25, 2008 #24 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I don't like being in the vicinity of whiners/complainers, they have no idea how foolish they look/sound. It never fails I always end up within earshot of someone complaining about something like the butter being too hard, the ship too cold, etc. DH & I have learned to laugh it off but it does get old  Oh I forgot my biggest pet peeve, those who feel the need to snap their fingers at the staff :(
cruzeluver Posted July 25, 2008 #25 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Oohh, the dreaded "finger snappers". I can't stand them either. That is not the way to get a crew member's attention. I used to wait tables and that was the fastest way to get me to ignore you. I am not a dog. :p
