Italian Nancy Posted October 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Has anyone taken either of the 7 or 7 1/2 hr excursions.. they do alot and I would like to see everything, but I am concerned that it will be too much of a full day ??? janjay Posted October 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Hey Nancy, Check out the Port of Call boards. They are so very helpful. Great place for research. Jan
Rare Texed Posted October 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2004 "The land and Sea to the Pitons" is a very nice excursion. The snorkeling near the pitons is very nice also.
Italian Nancy Posted October 20, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Texed, did you find it too long of a day though in the heat ?? Nancy
alpal1993 Posted October 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2004 I took that tour in 2002 and loved it.Really got to experience alot of the island It is long but the majority of us on the tour thought it was well worth it.We did the boat ride first and then the bus tour.Would have liked it better in reverse. They split up the group.Don't think you can request order, but you could try.The buffet lunch was very good . chessbriar Posted October 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2004 We did it in the reverse order. They do a good job breaking up the day. 3 hours of touring a nice lunch at an old mill turned into a reception hall then the sail back to the ship with a stop at a beach. You have to swim to the beach, but a nice break. You will run into quite a few natives trying to sell their wares. All in all it was a good day. Rare Texed Posted October 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Nancy, I agree with others, take the "road" first and then the"sea". Some others have taken a land tour only, and they said it was pretty tough because of all the twists and turns around the mountains and hills. lvz2cruz Posted October 21, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2004 we took land and sea to soufriere in 2002. went to chocolate plantation, inactive volcano, and snorkeling at anse cochon. went catamaran both ways, had lunch on board. our group ranged from 8 to 55 years old and all enjoyed. Italian Nancy Posted October 21, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Thank you all for your input.. I also checked out the ports of call site and found a private tour guy named Frank, and we are corresponding about his tours and pricing.. I guess as long as we aren't the one's driving, if the trip gets too long we can always have a little nap.lol..
