A CCer in the Crystal forum has posted an item about a Lufthansa strike that started today. I haven't seen anything in the U.S. media, but link to the German website that provides English translations of German news is http://www.thelocal.de/13283/20080725/.

 

Lufthansa claims that they have maintained their schedules today, but anybody trying to get to a cruise via Lufthansa should check. Note that Lufthansa also operates quite a few code shares, mainly Star Alliance partners, so strike could affect other airlines. For example, several United flights from US east coast to Germany are actually operated by Lufthansa.
