bobbetty Posted April 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2004 On this our first cruise with Royal Caribbean in September our request for Main Seating Dining has been waitlisted. It appears Royal Caribbean is holding Main Seating for those who book directly with them without using an Agent, as if I where to book same catergory cabin directly I would not be be waitlisted but assigned to Main Seating. My question is has anybody been waitlisted for Main Dining and been able to get it before their cruise?
Mark_K Posted April 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2004 I've never heard of RCI holding Main Seating for people that book through them, why do you think they're doing that? ---------------------------------------------------------- "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits" Mark Twain "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's formal night attire, poolside attire, child rearing practices, walk-talkie usage, chair hogging, seat saving, line cutting ..." travel2 Posted April 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2004 we are waitlisted also for a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords in June. We don't like it. I thought the reason was because we booked relatively late for this cruise. That would not be the case with you. HAL does the same.

kathi29 Posted April 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2004 We were waitlisted for main seating. Of course I was a maniac about having main seating because of the kids so I called every couple of weeks to see if there was availability. I was able to get the change confirmed a couple weeks before the cruise. Sovereign 6/02 Voyager 9/03 Mariner is so far away.. m&m1 Posted April 11, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Going on Mariner in June. Four families - 20 people. All booked through an agent. All got main seating dining. Theory does not hold in our case. Cruise addict in the making
Mark_K Posted April 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2004 A cruise longer than seven days, taking place when school is in session, is going to have an older crowd, most of whom like Main Seating. It's most likely that it's just full. ---------------------------------------------------------- "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits" Mark Twain "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's formal night attire, poolside attire, child rearing practices, walk-talkie usage, chair hogging, seat saving, line cutting ..."
