barante Posted August 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2008 On an earlier trip we happened to be in Bridgetown on a Sunday. After coming back from the beach, my wanted to rest but I walked downtown. The air was veritably wafting with incredible singing. These were not regular church buildings so I presume they were of Pentecostalist bent. We'll be back in February but I haven't checked which weekday. If it happens to be Sunday, maybe some of Barbados residents could recommend a church (with address and time of service) for singing. Aplmac Posted August 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2008 I'd send you straight to the Bridgetown Cathedral, on St.Michael's Row just East of the city center - it's Anglican/Church of England if that fits in with your faith. There's also the St.Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral on the corner of Jemmot's Lane and Bay Street, just a bit South-East of the city centre both of them an easy, quick and inexpensive cab drive from the Port. ___________________________________ Below are three interiors of St.Patrick's RC taken at a friend's Sept. wedding, last year! If u are looking for your the non-traditional (traditional being anglican/roman catholic methodist) u can also try the First Baptist Church...Service is 10 am. It is actually just up the road from the St. Michael's Cathedral...that aplmac suggested. Hope this helps
goneclear Posted August 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2008 If you have the time stop in at St. Patricks Cathedral as aplmac mentioned. The stone work on the alter is about the best I have ever seen. Also there is some fabulous stained glass. Hi Aplmac. Hope you have a great med cruise and looking forward to some of those fab pics. Safe travel.

We're booked on Ocean Village Two, Sept. 16th-23rd.Wife's knickers are already 'in a twist' as she crosses the days off the calendar!! :D I'm sure we'll enjoy it but what makes you think I'll be taking pics? :D:D Here she is, approaching Bridgetown Port! We had Cabin 8105, back in early Jan. I tried to get the same one, again but it was already gone so we got its 'mirror-image' 8108 -on the other side of the ship!!
