Athens Akropolis - bags questions

I read that during excursion a Akropolis in Athens you'll be not allowed to take with you your bag.

Is it true? Can you take with you small bags for cameras?

Where can you leave the bags if you are not allowed to take it with you?

Small bags are allowed. The definition of "small" may vary from staffer to staffer, depending on who happens to take your ticket. There is a place nearby to check your bags. Since my camera bag could never be considered "small," I left it on our bus, put the camera around my neck, and stuffed as many camera accessories and whatnot as I could into my pockets. Had to make do with one lens, but it was certainly worth it!
