ladybug97 Posted August 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2008 On this trip we are planning on going onto Civitavecchia when we arrive into Rome. My question is what do you recommend to do there? I think I read somewhere that they are beaches nearby? Just wanting to see other's opinion's.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2008 I'm assuming you are boarding the ship that day. Is that correct? You have a few options; Yes, you could go to a local beach but not sure if that is practical if you are boarding that day. You can visit the town itself. There are a variety of shops and other places to visit. At the same time, you can visit some of the historical sites in this town. This includes; Forte Michelangelo (Michelangelo's Fort) The Rocca (Castle) The cathedral of San Francesco d'Assisi About 30 minutes away is a former Etruscan Village. Again, not sure if you are boarding that day. Keith
mochuck Posted August 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2008 We just wandered around the shops. But we arrived the day before and stayed at Hotel Traiano - highly recommend. So, I'm not sure what you would do with your luggage.
