Tintown Posted August 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Our 11 year old daughter will be travelling with us on our upcoming cruises. She will no doubt want to go along to the kids club for some evenings, but would probably like to come with us to some too. Just wondering if children are permitted in these venues? Obviously not the casino, but does anyone know about the other areas?
cruise4usnow Posted August 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2008 On our recent cruises (Med and Mexico) children were allowed in and some shows were even labeled as family entertainment. However; I observed many people leaving with their children shortly after the shows started. It seems that just like TV or movies, what entertainers think is appropriate for families is not shared by all parents. I also would have left with children for some of the entertainment! Culater Posted August 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2008 We have only cruised on HAL this year and last year on the med. The shows were pretty much suitable for all ages of family members. I don't know why a parent would take a child out of the shows we saw unless they just didn't like it as I didn't think anything was inappropriate. The musical shows with singers and dancers were good, and maybe boring to your youngsters if they don't like musicals. On the last cruise there was a banjo player, singer/impressionist, violin duo and pianist to name a few.
Rare Hlitner Posted August 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2008 We have been on 11 different cruise lines (more than 50 ships) and children were always allowed in the evening shows. The only exceptions would be that no children are allowed in the Casino (not a show, but thought I would mention this) and on some ships they might have a late adult comedy show (usually at 11:30 or midnight) which would not be suitable for children. About the only anti-child rule we see on ships is that they generally do not want children in the first row of the main theaters. Hank
