All Things Fascination

Sigh* I thought I found one but my G/F wants to have a porthole. They had a room smack dab in the middle on the Main Deck but she said she really would like to have a porthole if at all possible?

Is it really going to be that bad in we are in the front? (Sorry to be a pain!) I'm just trying to see how shaky it really is going to be.

I was in M40 and the movement wasn't too bad except one night where we hit rough water. Other than that it was fine. And I liked Main Deck.

Thanks!

I think we might bite the bullett and pay a little more for a room in the middle just to be safe. Did M40 have regular windows or portholes?

The key on the deck plans should tell you whether it's a porthole or window cabin.

Personally, I won't spend one dime more for a window. I really like the pitch-black inside cabins. Combine that with Carnival's bedding, and I sleep like a log!

And I'd much prefer to be midship than forward. But you'd better do what she wants, you know! ;)

Are all of the bars open during the day? There will be a group of 20+ of us on the Fascination and I would like to tell them before we leave to meet at the _____ bar at 2:00pm, but I'm afraid the one that I pick won't be open for drinks. We would like to have a quieter place so that we all can talk and catch up. Any suggestions?

Your best bet for that would be either the bar near the pool on the lido deck or the bar right outside the casino. Both would be open at that time and would accommodate that many.

You'll really be happy in any room I think. You really won't be in the room that much.

When you call Carnival tell them that you would like just an interior. They may tell you about any upgrades... like the Super Saver program. If you use the Super Saver program the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE!!! You could change your sailing date but there is a $50 per person charge. But the prices tend to be cheaper with the Super Saver.

Like I said... ask away... we like to help!!! (at least I do :D )

We are going on the Fascination in June 2009 and needed a hotel room for the night before where we could leave our car and the hotel provide shuttle service to/from cruise port.

I found the Wingate Inn (by airport) for four of us in one room $143.82 (total includes tax, leaving our car there for the 6 days, shuttle to/from - for four of us). Their number is 904/421-5000

Pretty good deal considering we would pay $75 to park our car at the pier.

It was one of the first regular picture windows. I would not hesitate to book in the same location again - but it all depends on what you feel more comfortable with! If you feel you guys will be better off spending the additional money - then it is worth the piece of mind vs worrying if you made the right choice. Either way - the ship is awesome and you'll have a great time!

bobsfamily is correct, but you might also try the lobby bar, as they are open all day. Plus it is quieter than the lido bar.

Leaving on a Saturday.... your formal night should be Sunday... that's when we had ours.... Check your Capers to be sure!

We left on Thursday... thought it would be Friday leaving out of GBI... went down dressed and found out it was Sat... when we were in Nassau and did not leave til 10pm. We missed as we did not get back on board until close to 9.

Does anybody know where to look at the Menus for the 5 night to bahamas? I'm going May 30th.

Here is a link for the menus for Fantasy 5 day cruise.

http://www.zydecocruiser.com/Blog_2009/menus.pdf

They may not be exactly the same as Fascination, but what I got on Fascination in November is on these menus so they have to be pretty close to the same.
