Chartered Cruise

Julma

Recommended Posts

Heading out of Boston to Bermuda on the JOS in October. This is a chartered cruise. Having taken several RCCI trips before, but never a chartered ship I don't know what to expect.

Any info/experiences would be great!

A lot of what your cruise will be is dependant upon what kind of charter you are on. For example, an insurance companies charter would be a lot different from one that is a biker's charter. Without knowing anything about your charter, it is difficult for anyone to give you good info.

In general many charters bring on their own entertainment, have their own seminars, have all open seating meals instead of the scheduled dining and may or may not have all drinks included.

Perhaps you could check with the group that is doing the charter for info that is definitive of your cruise.

Enjoy.

Julma: If I am correct, this is a charter put together by VO sailing 10/23 from Boston. We did look into this cruise as we are sailing on the Jewel 10/28 already. What we found is that you will receive your standard cruise credit for this cruise from RCI, but no other C&A benefits will be applicable. That is no balcony discounts, no C&A functions, etc. All will be as if you are not aboard an RCI ship.

Honestly do not know what activities are planned. When we inquired, could not get a straight answer. Sorry!!!

We had ten adults (5 balcony cabins) on VO's charter Boston - Bermuda in 2006. You will not receive C&A discounts however everything onboard was the same. They still had priority boarding and disembarking for Platinum and Diamond members, they had C&A parties and we received C&A gifts. Even though they said we would not get C&A credit for the charter we did -- quicker than any other cruise, lol!

We also received a bottle of wine and a tote bag from VO.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank You. PhoenixCruiser, I was hoping to find someone who had taken this cruise before. I don't have any questions, but there is a small roll call thread, if you wouldn't mind taking a look at it once and awhile, some questions may come up.
