Should I lock checked in bags? Leaving tomorrow fo Rhine River Cruise

Just put your valuables in your carryon and don't worry about locking your luggage.If someone wanted to get in there they could anyway,locks or not. In 5 trips to Europe over the last 5 years I have never locked my bags and never had a problem. I do use a strap around the outside which would keep the bag from flying open and also helps me to identify it at baggage claim.

I'm with the "never lock my bags" group. Anyone that has access to your luggage and wants to get into it, can very easily cut off any lock and get in.

There should NEVER be any valuables in your checked luggage anyway, so unless someone wants some of my clothes, there won't be anything anyone would want.
