?? for those familiar with NY hotels...looking for opinion on The Benjamin

I have a chance to stay there for the night before the cruise for 150.00 with a complimentary upgrade if one is available. It is more than I want to spend for the night, but if the hotel is as fabulous as it looks, I may consider it. It seems like a very good deal, as the cheapest I've seen a room is $209.00

Also, how close is it to things like the Statue of Liberty, etc.

I haven't been inside The Benjamin, but it was refurbished a few years ago and looks nice. There are always doormen outside and there is a nice restaurant on the first floor. The hotel is located on the corner of 50th and Lexington, so you will want to request a high floor in the back if you want to get any sleep.

Since the hotel is located in midtown, it is not near the Statue of Liberty, but you can take a cruise from the west side or downtown to get to it. If you are trying to get your bearings on a map, the closest major landmark would be Grand Central Terminal, which is located between 42 and 45 Streets on Park Avenue.
