Avg age on Alaskan cruises -- are we too young?

HOLLAND IS AWESOME NO MATTER WHAT AGE YOU ARE.. I AM NOT 65 I AM YOUNGER AND HOLLAND IS MY CHOICE ALL THE TIME!!

I don't agree with the information about HOlland America. If all you want is a party, then go on Carnival or NCL. The food, service and many other things are much better on Holland America, why do you think there are many older people on those ships? They know what they are doing. I spent my Honeymoon on HA when I was 21, not a problem. Now I have three kids, ages 24, 21 and 13. We sailed on HA last November and they had a great time (all of them). This time my 21 year old is not coming, but I don't think either one of my kids will worry. They always meet people. I am only 45, and I notice people of all ages.

Let me stress, Carnival and NCL (I have been on each once, never wanted to spend my money on them again) do not have the same level of service or can they come close to the food that is served on HA.

It all depends on what you want, if you don't care about service or food, then by all means, go on Carnival or NCL.

I recommend HA or Royal Carribbean.

You are never too young or old to enjoy an Alaskan cruise. Over the summer, it is a great family vacation, so you will find multi-generational passengers.

Hopefully, you will choose a cruise that gives you long days in the ports as there is so much to do, and if you want to do active excursions as well as grab a little history/culture/shopping in each port, longer port times will be ideal for that. Then you can collapse when back aboard.

Princess does an excellent job in Alaska, and has a naturalist aboard each sailing. The naturalist will provide commentary based on the scenery you are passing, and also give some talks on the wildlife, etc. While Princess offers a relaxing onboard experience, their entertainment in a number of venues will go into the late evening, and the disco is open until the wee hours.

When you decide on your cruise, join your roll call and meet some of the people that are sailing with you - no matter what the age, it is great to have some friends on board!

I agree that you should go! But, you will probably feel very young. We were just on the Coral Princess, and the average age was at least 65.

We met some very interesting people and had a blast. However, the bars closed early if there was no one in them, and the dance clubs has about 10-15 people in them when they stayed open late.

We are in our mid-30s/early 40s, and most nights we went to bed because the bars/casinos and hot tubs were closed, so there wasn't much else for us to do.

Having said that - being young is great for Alaska because you can do all the active things - we did lots of long hikes, etc.
